Singapore River Market 2010 – It’s Our Portobello Market!
Coming this March 2010, the Singapore River will come alive at twilight every weekend with the Singapore River Market. Be prepared for goodies and entertainment galore! Definitely something you should not miss, it is poised to be a weekend getaway for everyone in the family!
If you think about it, practically every great city around the world has a market (or two) it’s famous for; there’s the Portobello Market in London, and then there’s Taipei’s Shihlin Night Market, just to name a couple. The fact that we are blessed with a lovely, riverfront setting, with the sophisticated Central right in the midst of it all, it’s a wonder we hadn’t thought of it sooner.
Better late than never. Coming March, the Singapore River Market will host more than 40 stalls featuring unique local as well as international wares – arts and craftwork, home ware, clothing, handmade gift and accessories items and more – providing a wonderfully fresh alternative to the savvy consumers.
Picture a leisurely family day out or a romantic evening stroll with your partner, all to the tune of entertainment, scrumptious eats and an eclectic shopping experience.
There’s something for everyone at the Singapore River Market! While adults shop to their hearts’ content, the kids may treat themselves to an exciting weekend of face-painting, balloon sculpturing and street jugglers. For art lovers, come view our impressive displays of beautifully painted lacquer art pieces or pick out an abstract painting for your home!
Shop within the air-conditioned comfort of the Central, and then hop outdoors to enjoy the view along the cool, breezy riverfront.
Sip on a glass of exquisite red wine or savour the wide selection of yummy pastries and cakes while browsing the myriad of things on sale. Alternatively, step into one of the delectable eateries available within Central, like Watami, Santouka Ramen, Seoul Yummy and Gobi for desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth.
